Your steps

10 steps

1. Find a job posting you'd like to apply for and save a copy.
2. Highlight the 5 to 10 skills, tools or qualifications it mentions most.
3. Fill in your contact details, using a professional-sounding email address.
4. Write a two- or three-line summary that names the role you want.
5. List your experience, most recent first, with three bullet points for each role.
6. Rewrite each bullet as action verb + what you did + result, adding a number where you can.
7. Add a skills section that matches the posting, including only skills you really have.
8. Add your education and any certifications, including OpenSkills certificates you've earned.
9. Proofread: read it aloud, check every date and confirm your phone number and email.
10. Save it as a PDF with a clear file name and ask someone you trust to review it.
